there’s a bunch of framing stuff around the prompt so the standard prompt injection likely will not work; I’m somewhat hopeful that the character limit and the structure around the posts also keeps the bot in the right frame of mind, so to speak

lol it surfaced the fact that the bot can’t see through quote posts it also can’t see images and has some fairly dumb limits, these are good things to improve

yea very hard to tell whats my impression vs reality vs narrowly true on my set of tasks

I think they tend to hurt down the road model performance? a little hard to say, but my sense is that if its confusing to you, its confusing to claude too

ok on reflection and discussion with an opus - they do reserve some tokens for control signals - challenging to pretrain on those - rlhf tries to use these tokens as signals - it's all blended in the latent space "it's all just tokens" -> "it's all just activations"
