Sorry, you criticised me with content that I didn't think was correct. To block my right of reply doesn't seem reasonable. End of conversation as far as I'm concerned.

@mariegardiner.bsky.social I wasn't sneering at car drivers other than those dismissive of keeping public transport cheap. I understand that rural public transport is dreadful, but there are too many in urban areas who could use buses and trains but won't. 0

The main point is that people who can't afford a car will get cheaper transport. It would be great if local buses and trains were free for all. That could be funded by increasing taxes on these monster size cars that have sprung up in recent years, taking up so much space on roads and in car parks.
