The IPO was a basic con job, but because the numbers are so huge and the dazzling array of big names lined up behind Musk, a lot of people who might normally be smarter got sucked in.

I'd like to imagine they were successful art thieves who stole the world's famous paintings and kept one for themselves.

I'm not sure what that is supposed to achieve. Most of the voters in that electorate are unlikely to be NZHerald readers which means they'll miss the message. Even if they are readers, the argument is not convincing. It literally looks like people playing mind games.

Only yesterday I posted here saying that the infighting between the government coalition partners might lead to instability after the election, but right now it looks like they are bringing that melt-down forward.

And isn't all our oil coming from Singapore and South Korea right now? We are dependent on their continuing good will.

Well yeah... but I bet you wouldn't gleefully tick the voting paper for someone who was deliberately being cruel to a group of people that you have never had much contact with.

The worst part of all this is that the monsters think being cruel is going to win them votes... and they are probably right.
