If Burnham is determined to keep her, the one big change he must force on her is to abandon her planned increase in the indefinite leave to remain period, as you mention in your final paragraph. Burnham must keep a close eye on her and overrule her excesses.

Kylian Mbappé is just as French as Charles Aznavour or Johnny Halliday, both of whom had parents who were not born in France.

As long ago as 1998 when France won the World Cup there was a certain section of the (mainly older and more conservative) population in France who were questioning the "French-ness" of the national team. They should be proud of how their national team has done in world football in the last 30 years.

Just watched the highlights. Excellent win - one of England's best ever World Cup victories. Bellingham and Pickford in particular performed brilliantly. It must have been exciting (and nail biting) to watch live. England must fancy their chances against Norway.

And the English FA and other national football associations will just shrug their shoulders and do nothing about it. Does that not make them almost as morally bankrupt as FIFA?
