Not all the outlets will pick them up, but this is how most of the news you read gets submitted to the associated press and distributed The better outlets often just rewrite the same story that budget outlets are copy pasting, for the byline

Then you need someone or several someones ready to write up and send out those releases as needed (hardest part, good place to pull in a favor from a university or 9)

Then do international news contacts And yes separate lists You then need to know the standards of a press release and what should be included (this is all online along w examples)

then you build an email list of all those journos Print one out for yourself first (and every 6 most or so or after big events) then get someone that already runs an email list to help you with setting one up. helps if you already own a domain to host it on yourselves but you CAN do it from a phone

THEN email that person and ask them where to send any relevant press releases because they will likely say them directly! 😉 Even if they give you a catch-all office address too

And any Indigenous people (worldwide) that still don't already know how it works? We send press releases Email the local media and find out who their contact is for tribal or environmental news
