Admitting to y lobbying Republicans and having "insiders" in the administration, while screeching about Dems not being open enough to their ideas about collaborating with (their imagined) MAHA, is bizarre. Crisis are politically clarifying.

WSITY is a weird project. It does not come off as politically neutral. It's unclear what policy change they are trying to achieve. It's very scolding & angry towards Dems and Public Health professionals. You don't talk that way to allies. It's not even a good science comms podcast.

But not everyone in "public health" has drunk their cool-aid and it pisses WSITY staff off. Is there really a peel-able voting block? Who exactly is being asked to shift their political views: MAHA voters, Dem pols, PH professionals? And many people do NOT want to meet MAHA in the "middle".

The theory of change is, if people working in public health admit their failures, they will be more open to taking MAHA political objectives more seriously and... then they would be, what, be more popular or successful? The carrot for Dems is the promise of peeling off MAHA voters from MAHA pols?

More to the point, who is WSITY funded by? Cause this is what it sounds like: WSITY is political project. It claims that "public health" has failed MAHA voters, and is not trustworthy. WSITY shows often feel like a self-criticism session for public health professionals.

So much anger at "Democrats", from people who seem to be collaborating with Republicans. Democrats abandoned MAHA? "You" are kicking people out of clinics? "You need to demonstrate"? Who is this demonized "you"?

WSITY seems to want to represent the "moms and dads and young people who support RFK Jr because he has given voice to a desire to have someone fight for their health." But also claim they don't like being called MAHA. Who exactly doesn't like the MAHA label?

So the producers of a podcast, which is consistently way over its skis on health science & policy, and which purports to engage with MAHA voters about public health... ...are actually political consultants? Do tell us more about those conversations.
