From Landguard, Moth trapping: 79 Species recorded between our 3 traps last night. Moth of the morning is the Comfrey Ermine (Ethimia quadrillella) which is a nationally scarce species living on Comfrey.

From Landguard: 79 Moth species recorded last night in 3 traps. The Oak Processionary Moth, first noted on site in 1995 & in 6 subsequent years. The caterpillars cause severe damage to oak trees by stripping leaves. Early records are evidence of them naturally crossing into the UK.

From Landguard, Double figure catches of Rusty Acorn Piercer (Cydia amplana) in recent days is suggestive of an immigration of fresh migrants. It was first noted here in 2003 and has been annual the past six years.
