For the Google Doodle, we really swabbed his mouth and grew a culture from his drool!

I got Kobie in my formative years as an artist, so he’s been drawn by a lot of cool people. Here he is in a Google Doodle (for the Petri dish by Sophia Foster Dimino), featured as a knight in Tales of Arcadia: Wizards, a diorama by Meredith Miotke, art by Scott C, & art by Lindsey Olivares.

Since Trump already ruined this day I encourage everyone to think of July 4th as Kobie day. Enjoy a burger (veggie or maybe with cheese) and a beer in his honor because he always begged for both each year.

My dog does deserve a very special place in this bridge of life. He met my cat, who I adopted when I was 8 years old (granted I was 23 when he met her). He also met my daughter, who I gave birth to at 36 years old. An irreplaceable companion.

Ugh I’m so sorry. The first year of daycare is the worst. Everyone is sick always. I hear it does get better!! (We’re at almost a year— my kid has been sick the last 2 weeks of the last month 🙃)
