i’ve thought a lot about the ease of “easy” criticizing versus how much good it does anyone in the long run—both for the psyche of the critic and that of their audience—which i why i try to make a point to talk more about what i love these days. but i never had the other half of the thought

yeah i think so too! i often conceive of my adult life as feeling like a 15 year old who’s allowed to have independence for some reason. i think every adult must feel that way at least sometimes, and that feeling begins in childhood as you try to conceive of what adulthood will be like
