I'm right there with you. Many furs these days end up using the fandom as a tool to expand their social circle and then leave after a few years. They don't care what it actually means to be a furry. It's more about making a brand for yourself and gaining clout than being real fans of anthro art.

Yep. The fandom is changing in ways that I really didn't want it to go. Lots of the younger and "influential" furs are really just "fans of the fandom" rather than all-encompassing, anthropomorphism fans coming together to express their love of anthro.

The fandom is starting to go meta. It's more self contained now. Things produced within the fandom are popular enough among its own members they don't feel the need to outsource.
