Yeah, you’re right! I should really find a game and fall into it like that. I haven’t done that with any game in awhile, or a retro game in ages.

Yeah I used to be very persistent, lol. I beat Ys IV, and Lunar 1, Albert Odyssey, and Rayearth on Saturn. And played large portions of other games. But this was all in the ‘90s.

In part, but I’ve played through RPGs in Japanese. Just never really sat down and tried. I should!

Era defining

Pristine pick, aces the assignment

Today’s #randomgamesaturday is the original Street Fighter on its only port back in the day for the PC Engine CD. It’s an awful game. Horrible control and little fun to be had, but we got very good sequels a few years later. It wouldn’t happen without the OG.

Random game Saturday: Legend of Xanadu for PC Engine. Somehow I’ve never played this for more than like 10 minutes. One of the first imports I ever got, too, back in the Turbo Mailing List days.

I used to stand in EB and look at this box and want this game. The whole Wonder Boy kinda vibe is just my thing, and I’ll want any game that has a similar one.

I couldn’t get into them in high school despite friends loving them and being extremely into NIN and Ministry. I haven’t tried since!
