Australia is very much an anti-pet society, so unless women have friends/family to assist, it is next to impossible to find pet-friendly refuge or accommodation when escaping DV. There are very limited services. Despite women being murdered in epidemic numbers, our government continues to fail them.

Wildlife suffers so much in the heat. It looks like you have created a lovely, safe habitat for them. They are lucky to have you. 🌻🚰😇

So true. Law does not create morals, but when humans cannot behave ethically, legislation is supposed to enforce our values as a society. Sadly, our society does not value nonhuman animals or the environment we all share.

I had a group of Maggie's follow me on a dog walk a couple of days ago. They literally stopped me and were warbling at me. I told them how beautiful they were and explained that I only had poo bags on me - no treats to give them. Love them so much. One of my favourite birds 🥰

Animals are normally sedated for any radiology because we need them to be perfectly still for imaging - unless they are particularly compliant or medically compromised (like respiratory distress). 😊

You're right, there's no question about the corruption of the duopoly. And we indeed end up with fucktards from ON/United, etc., but the more educated constituents become, the better choices they will make. The Teal takeover was a good example.
