If you make the premise of your found footage movie "The main character is wearing smart glasses that record everything," the problem becomes how to make that interesting without your main character just sorta standing there looking at stuff. This movie does not solve that problem.

New at @bloody-disgusting.com, a Fantasia Fest review of Myanmar-based found footage film THE LAST FOOTAGE. I wish I had better things to say about it because it had so much potential, but yeah, it's rough.

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY has that classic MCU problem of getting caught in the weeds of too much world building, but damn is it fun. Best fight scenes I've seen from Marvel in a long time, it has genuine visual personality, and Holland crushes it. Also: Put Jon Bernthal in every Marvel movie

I love low-budget horror from the 70s and 80s for a lot of reasons, but one is how so many of them are always just barely underlit, just enough to lengthen the shadows and add some darkness where things can hide. The best 4Ks preserve this, but man is it fun to hit play on a good YouTube VHS rip.

Oh, and I own Fleetwood Mac's THE DANCE on CD, Vinyl, and VHS. When is the 4K of THE DANCE concert special coming out and can I write the booklet essay.

I own at least three editions of THE SHINING in book form and at least two in film form. Woulda stopped but I had to have the legendary silver paperback.
