Share the first video game you played! My grandmother had this in the late 70s. It was the home version, an entire console just to play black and white Pong. Not sure what the first arcade game I played was. Maybe Space Invaders. I can still hear the sound FX in my head.

I pledge my devotion to whatever religion believes it can reincarnate me as a living sentient plush that can act as friend, snuggle buddy, sympathetic ear and empathy dispenser. I would be perfectly content just being able to have my existence revolve around making people feel good.

I am on Wegovy and currently have an active volcano in my stomach. I no longer possess the human sensation of hunger. AMA.

Today I was informed that the position I've had for 5 1/2 years at Boeing will be no longer in 3 weeks. They've been cutting people left and right so while it's not shocking, it hurts. Gotta follow my own advice and try to be upbeat but I'm frankly very scared. Anyone hiring learning admins? 🙏

Unsure if this is a hot take, but I firmly believe that everything would be better, from politics to social media posts, if people focused more on what they SUPPORTED rather than what they HATE. Yes, even when the thing they hate truly sucks. Don't lose what makes you happy to what makes you mad.

Was thinking about what it would be like if I could go back in time as current me and hang out with childhood me, like to coach him and make him realize that he's way better than he thought. But, did I need that adversity to forge me into the me that I am now? Or would I be even better?

I 100% must have physical media that I own. I primarily listen to mp3s for convenience/space, but they're MY mp3s. I want a hard copy I can touch and I do not want some greedy loser streaming company to tell me who/what/when/how I can listen to/watch/play. Music is too personal and too important.

The prevailing zeitgeist of "brevity is all that matters" is a big part of why things are so miserable. Detail is information is power. Nuance is crucial for understanding. Those in power want you to be TL;DR stupid so you're easier to manipulate. You should THIRST for detail, not avoid it.

I am a strong believer in liquids only being consumable at the right temperature. The minute my coffee is less than very warm, it's undrinkable. Cold coffee is like cold showers. Masochistic! Room temp water? Nasty. More ice, please. Note: does not apply to consuming painfully scalding things.

Many years ago a casual friend said something that I took to heart: "I can't follow you anymore, there's too much negativity." I could have been annoyed or defensive about my need to vent. Instead I realized that good people don't need more anger or bad news. They need a reason to smile & hope.
