Everyone's comparing Nolan's Odyssey to Homer, but I think there's much more richness The ancient Greeks adapted the Odyssey into ART While these images might appear static to us, I want to walk through how an ancient Greek saw art: AS DYNAMIC STORYTELLING like our films 1/13

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.
I think its meaningful, fulfilling and important for humans to live simple, peaceful lives, even if its just painting dragons.
Seth Rutledge"Art" these days means very different things to people. For many, it's something they can contribute to the TTRPG / video game / animation / tv industries - NOT something to express their humanity and POV. They don't want to talk about the human condition, they want to get paid to paint dragons.
my husband has no hours until monday and we really need groceries and cat food. i am temporarily open for commissions and if you ever liked what i do you can also donate to my ko-fi. appreciate you all for supporting my art, thank you so much. ko-fi.com/sleepyhouse2 #opencommissions #mutualaid
AI is robbing you of the opportunity to make this instead
Davis BickfordThe next time you consider making a flier with AI, please also consider that the most intriguing ad I’ve seen this week is a garage sale sign made of particle board with spray painted writing that reads, “GOOD SHIT —>”
Maybe a hot take, but I'm so sick of remakes/remasters adding all this extra detail and "realism" to what used to be a perfectly beautiful cartoon/simplified art style. I don't need Rayman with fingernails and separated eyes. I don't need Link with 100% human proportions. Etc. It's uncanny as hell.
100% essential reporting. These are the people who make up the bulk of the film industry, this is the climate right now, and this is what the Paramount deal or whatever mega merger comes in its stead will cost them. If you're outside the film industry this is must read.
Alvaro M. BedoyaPeople think "Hollywood" is rich and famous. The reality? Film and TV is a national industry. It's a blue collar industry. And it is an industry free fall. My latest for @newrepublic.com on how the Paramount merger would crush blue collar workers who can not afford it newrepublic.com/article/2136...

“Nobody is going to theaters” My guy there are ads followed by trailers for movies that feel like fever hallucinations with more ads IN BETWEEN the trailers, fucking 5 commercials for THE THEATER YOU ARE ALREADY IN ffs they had to legally start putting the length of ads/trailers on the ticket app
