The unfortunate thing is that Starship isn’t anywhere close to ready. Its endless delays are bottlenecking the Artemis program, which is why the crewed landing has been changed from Artemis III to Artemis IV.

Overall I agree with this. The main reason NASA wants to use Starship for the lunar lander is because it’s reusable. Instead of having to bring a lander along every mission, they can just leave a Starship in lunar orbit and use that. That would be very helpful if we had a Moon base, for example.
