Iirc years ago Toby said that was to allow anyone to revisit any of the chapters without needing to replay everything until then Tho I’ve seen an idea thrown around that playing the chapters in a specific order based on the forgotten man’s dialogue from chapter 3 might do something

it rather has a vibe of serializing a webcomic on a personal blog

and toby thinks that would make sense for a chronological story-driven game. sounds bit unorthodox and that is why it's intriguing. should I expect some time-looping multiverse shenanigans

the story will conclude at whatever chapter toby has in mind. and one can start experiencing the game right from that 'last chapter'? as if you're about to read a book irl then skipping things on your whim

do you think deltarune being able to be played from any chapter at any given time (even when you're a first-time player who just bought the game) has anything to do with its plot

Too many people in this space ultimately only care about their ability to play games. Their entire ideology is based on the premise that games are some right accorded to them. When that's your most core belief, nothing serious can be built on top of it.
