Breaking down barriers. Ending stigma. Promoting understanding. Fighting for church-state separation. Representing atheists in America.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others."

Evangelist Whitney Lynn says she preaches on planes because she loves “a captive audience.” She's not alone. It's becoming a trend. If spreading your message requires listeners who can't escape, maybe it's not as compelling as you think. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/christian-...

Absolutely not.

Texas’s decision to start teaching Bible stories is meant to send a political message—“but regardless of your political or religious beliefs, there are good reasons to agree that the Bible should be part of young people’s education,” Adam Kirsch argues.

We have been proud to be on the front lines of the fight to end child marriage alongside our partners at Unchained At Last — and our state advocates have lobbied in California for the past three years to get this bill passed. It's time to finish the job.

Read this great piece from Kevin Bolling at @secularstudents.bsky.social calling on California to join the growing national consensus and end child marriage once and for all.

In the Oval Office, Trump's Religious Liberty Commission chair, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, called the separation of church & state the "biggest lie that's been told in America." After reading their report, we beg to differ. Join us Monday for a town hall to break it down. atheists.org/RLC-townhall

Absolutely agree. Unlike the White Christian Nationalist movement and its acolytes, we actually care about religious freedom, pluralism, and government neutrality. And we're proud to work with Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and Jews who share that commitment. Thank you, Professor McQuade!

As a Christian, I am deeply offended by JD Vance’s proclamation of the United States as “a Christian nation.” Our country was founded on religious freedom. Read the First Amendment— no establishment of religion. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/07/o...

"Throughout, the message is clear: Get religion. If you don’t, the commission suggests, it just doesn’t seem to work out, does it?"

NEWS: On Independence Day, Senator Chuck Schumer posted social media statements citing the founders' belief that the United States was "God's noble experiment." The problem? He made it up.

We already knew Donald Trump's Christian Nationalist speechwriters have never read the Constitution, so why would the Declaration be any different?

A disgusting erasure of millions of nonreligious Americans by the White Christian Nationalists who have hijacked our government.

The work to perfect our union continues, even after 250 years.

And when we see our government — and our history — being hijacked by the White Christian Nationalist movement, you'd better believe we dissent.

There's nothing more American than the separation of religion from government. Happy Independence Day! 🎇🎆

Choosing to quote Leviticus for ANYTHING, let alone to support the principle of liberty, over the plain language of the Constitution or the writings of the founders, is deeply disturbing and a clear expression of the White Christian Nationalism taking over our government.

We're relieved at the outcome of today's birthright citizenship decision, but the fact that there were 4 votes to ignore the plain language of the Constitution is appalling. The White Christian Nationalist movement will keep coming for our rights and we have to act to stop them.

No it hasn't and no it won't.

The only people seemingly trying to close churches are the corrupt, hypocritical leaders of the White Christian Nationalist movement. Alienating and grifting their members by covering up child abuse, excusing and encouraging masked thugs to rip families apart, and lining their own pockets.
