I'm starting to learn that even public domain stuff can exist in murky areas. I have gotten in copyright trouble for copying and pasting paintings because the scans of the images were copy-protected even though the painting was public domain.

I'm not a fan of those scenes. Just seems unnecessarily cruel and grotesque. They're pretty creepy. Though, the scene whenever everyone attacks Spongebob from the inside wasn't as bad as I remember when I did a series rewatch a few years back. The cartoony sfx soften it a bit.
