Otis had his annual vaccinations and check up this week, which always leaves him sleepy 💤 The vet said that as he is nkw 6 he should take supplements for joint health. Fortunately Otis seems to like the flavour so I can pretend that they’re treats 🤭 #dogsofbluesky

Cuts, such as those that mean no more HiPERCAM/ULTRACAM, an instrument that is incredibly productive and costs so little, seem illogical. Makes it feel as though it’s not about the money at all… #astro

“Within the funding available” is doing a lot of work. SKA gets partially protected but e-Merlin cut, research grants cut, Postdoc numbers held “flat” at already diminished level…. World-leading research needs sustained backing but UKRI/gov priority seems to be AI over science pipeline. #astro
