Fantastic Voyage. At the time, I went trick-or-treating as Guru, in a cheap store-bought costume with a plastic mask. The gem on the turban would light up when you pressed a toggle switch. Nice touch. But since no adult watched the show I had to explain who I was at every damn house.

OK then, who are you referring to? What counts as a superhero for you? POPEYE has super powers. He's not costumed, has no secret identity, but he's a hero and he's super, and he predated Superman. You can't count Zorro, he's not super. He's a costumed hero, but not super.
