The State Department said it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.

Kind of like the Streisand Effect. Seems like it could use a name too.

"A new analysis of Black voters in the South indicates that Republican attempts to dilute their political power is driving them to the polls in larger numbers and shifting their counties further left."

Harvard and Yale tanking to make Princeton the top Ivy. Though I'm guessing my feed just isn't showing me whatever bs Princeton is pulling right now.

Mary Lewis

It‘s quite possible that with this move, @harvard.edu could become the only Ivy League university without a writing center. www.thecrimson.com/article/2026...

Anyone else want to point out what independent media they support? For me, it's 1) @harrisfootball.com and @andybehrens.bsky.social fantasy football 2) @karlbode.com tech journalism 3) @joeyneverjoe.bsky.social LA/police journalism

I don't think the average reader, viewer etc. really grasps how much less local coverage there is right now compared to 20 years ago, or even 10. But hopefully the overall ecosystem, both local and national, is slowly being reinvented in a positive fashion

I went to school in an affluent Detroit burb (I lived in an adjacent town) with Hayley, though we didn't know each other. I do live on the West Coast now, though I have yet to own any car nicer than a Toyota Corolla. Unlike Hayley, who drove a Lincoln Towncar in high school. Who's the elite again?

Howard Mortman

"Cool kids on the Internet. They're doing the cool kid chatter. Some of 'em might be the coastal elites, making fun of how I talk. But let's be real. They're making fun of Michigan. They're thinking they're better than us. Their jokes, their criticism, only make me fight harder." -- Haley Stevens

When your company (Taylor Farms) is so evil even the trump white house won't back you up

Dr. Lucky Tran

According to the WSJ, Taylor Farms contacted the White House and pressured them to delay announcing the lettuce recall. But the White House was convinced by the FDA’s findings and gave the agency the green light to make them public. However, the FDA still was slow and made several comms missteps.
