World-class UK anthropology, archaeology, area studies, chemistry, classics, English language and literature, geography, history, history of art, modern languages and philosophy, among other subjects, are also at risk, and have been for quite some time now. You don't need a telescope to see it.

I've just finished (and enjoyed) @archhistdarling.bsky.social's excellent new book on the architecture of Broadcasting House which explores how in the 1920s/30s the BBC and its designers collectively used architecture and design to forge their identity in a modern world #20s30s

Redundancies at a post-92 are just as catastrophic--if not more--as redundancies at the institutions that are members of a group specifically set up to structurally advantage themselves at the expense of post-92s. Solidarity with everyone at risk. We are all very much needed.

It seems a long time - was it 10 years? - since I went to the Paul Mellon Centre one evening to hear Elizabeth Darling talk about her research into the architecture of Broadcasting House, but the fruits of her labours have now ripened It looks great; I will put it to the top of my "to be read" pile
