I spend a lot of time championing wasps. I think we have at least two active nests in/on our house this year, but fewer than previous years. For several years we had hornets nesting in my home office wall, but not this year or last. Still see some around though.

I think that's why it's done. Meanwhile governments can ignore the issue and corporations can make more money than they would by fixing the problem. I suppose people then think "what difference will my actions alone make?".

Yes, there are certainly many instances of big business and governments trying to absolve themselves of responsibility by shifting responsibility to "the consumer" or speaking of personal choice.

It's a sad situation alright. Is everyone expecting other people to solve the problem while they do nothing?

There was almost no interest in the environmental side of "green" technologies. Perhaps that's part of the answer?

I once got involved in answering questions on a Facebook "PV etc" group, but people's obsession with ROI alone became too depressing. One had gone back to using gas, as he could make 2p per kWh more selling the electricity back. 🤦

Been there, done that, but I have a friend who has only recently changed his opinion from "not happening" to "not us". No argument can persuade such people when the whole subject has become part of "identity politics".

Annoys me too. No casualties, except for the millions of creatures that died in the flames. And the millions more that now won't be born and the survivors who will have nowhere to live and nothing to eat.

Never thought I'd see that in The Telegraph! Will this mean a reduction in the number of front page anti-wind/anti-heatpump/anti-EV stories and blaming Net Zero for everything under the sun? 🤔

Whilst many individuals are apparently intelligent our species as a whole acts like a two year old, stumbling about breaking everything it touches. Maybe in smaller groups we never reached the critical mass required for peak stupidity? 🤔

It's funny which restrictions they regard as an impingement on their civil liberties and which they are fine with or want more of. When are they going to start wondering if they are the bad guys?

That is utterly nuts. I can't believe they made it. Can't wait!
