Yesterday, for instance, I finished writing a song I'd begun a week or two earlier. I'd forgotten how I'd voiced certain chords so I listened to my voice memo to cop my own licks. In the process, I tried something that subtly changed the harmony, made it more interesting, and that improved the song.
