gender healthcare is a strange alliance between the medical profession and trans people. for medicine, the logic of gender care is correction, not affirmation: to correct the dysfunction of gender dysphoria. whereas trans people seek gender care as a positive materialization of their identity.

subjugated political coordinates madden subjects but also subjects madden those political coordinates. transness maddens the rationalities of gender while the apparatus of gender maddens trans people. madness is a social practice that unsettles the rationalities of power.

sanity would not survive the night without an extensive apparatus of power instituting, sustaining, enforcing, and defending it.

sanity is a form of power: a compulsion rather than a state of mind or attribute one possesses. this is the basic assumption of my anti-sanity politics.

our vulnerabilities, magnified and exploited by oppression, are not aspects of our bodyminds to repudiate, blame, or feel shame about. rather they are stories and testimonies of our survival and truthful indictments of the world.
