You’re going to keep refusing to understand, which is another way Democrats keep losing.

A woman with a baby carriage almost got hit a few weeks ago when someone veered around me into the left turning lane to turn right when I was in the right lane! My car is a not large, they could easily have seen that someone was in the crosswalk but I guess they didn’t care to look.

Yep, a car suddenly slowing in front of me caused me to slide under the light as it was turning red. I felt bad and was blaming myself, then in the rearview saw two more cars coming through after me. It’s bad out there. 

He is trying. The letter is the first step. People want all sorts of things without understanding procedures. 

Ah, I realize what you mean, in the old days a layoff meant you might be called back some weeks later and often you were. Today a layoff means you’re not going to work there again. People tend to say they were “let go“ now, which means they were not fired for cause but their job was eliminated.

Ever again? I was laid off three times in my career and every time I got a better job a few months later. Being fired mean it’s for cause, that you did something wrong. Being laid off means the company eliminated your job, not that you did something wrong.

Or being strategic? Do you understand how any of this works? Are you aware that Mitch McConnell is retiring as of January 3 and his replacement will be elected in November? 

Maybe they love the fact that as long as Mitch sits in a rehab unit he can’t cast a vote with other Republicans in the Senate.

So many people don’t even know there is a regular election coming up in November in which McConnell will be replaced because he already had announced his retirement as of January 3, 2027.

Democrats who are unlikely to win a special election. Might be nice if they win did, but they would only serve until January 3, when the winner of the regular election will be sworn in, very likely to be another crappy Republican, but at least not one who will have the power McConnell has had. 

There aren’t that many MAGA idiots in DC.

We’re all aware that he’s avoiding giving up his seat. If what he’s saying is true then he’s on medical leave until Congress goes on recess on August 7. He will have until mid September to show up when Senate reconvenes. No one can prove he’s incapacitated now, so he holds the seat but isn’t voting.

If this is all true, he is admitting that he needs intense therapy, which he is receiving, and will return to the Senate when medically cleared. Where’s the stalling? Sure, I’d like a quick video appearance, but we’re not getting it. I have my doubts but a non vote right now is ok by me.

IF he’s alive and this story is somehow true, when you need intensive therapy (post-stroke for example) and you have a top-tier health plan, you get it in a very nice rehab facility, not at home where things aren’t set up for your daily care and PT/OT needs.

He’s been in rehab for a while (so they say), not a hospital.

Yikes, the former Acela seats were already uncomfortable so I get your super uncomfortable description.

I saw previews several times in a Dolby theater and they did nothing for me. I can *always* tell from the previews if I’ll like a film or just want to give it a chance. Passing on this one.
