We not only need to learn from our own movements (and return to these roots) but also need to understand the history and political economy of MAHA and other other groups. Many of these groups were created with the explicit purpose of dismantling public institutions and advancing other $ interests.1/

We need to see MAHA as the product of a political economy designed to sow doubt and undermine public institutions, rather than a solution to the structural forces that have created a sense of abandonment and dislocation in too many communities and left them vulnerable to bad faith actors.
