Congratulations!!!

The elevation chart looks like cat ears, and I think that's cute... Even if parts of the climb are a 30% grade.

One last hike this trip. Decided to save this for the last day to acclimate to the elevation. I hiked uphill at 6700ft yesterday in 95° heat, and I was ok. Let's see how I do at 10,000ft in 70° weather today 🥲

We climbed up Black Point, and I have 5G on top of a volcano.

I can't even call my mom with good news because she doesn't waste time trying to find a way to bring me down. And my therapist has never encouraged me to go low-contact. She's only ever validated how difficult and painful it is.

Every time I go through something difficult, I wish I could call my mom for support, but every time I let her in, she makes the worst possible choice about how to react. The only thing my therapist has done is show me how a supportive, empathetic person reacts to what's going on in my life.

I fear that the shots I take with my big camera tomorrow will not be as good as my phone, lol. I swear the gull was not a paid actor.

I'm boarding Drax this week, so he's in the care of his primary vet, who is monitoring him and giving him his meds while all the vet techs give him lots of love and attention. I'm getting texts about him, and it's making me feel so much better about being on this vacation I planned months ago.

But I also get the frustration of seeing someone procrastinate real fixes that need to be done, in favor of something that effectively doesn't provide any real benefit. I installed mine because my house was a rental before I bought it, and I didn't know who had a key, so I needed to do it anyway.

Eh. The way I see it, the vast majority of locks on the market have flaws and can be picked, but the chance of someone who is motivated to target my house, and capable of doing it is so tiny that the pros outweigh any risk.

I love the code locks on my doors because I never need to dig my keys out of my purse anymore, and I have trauma from being a latch-key kid with ADHD, and having to wait outside for hours if I didn't have my keys. But I'd very honestly be afraid of becoming tech support for boomers with one.
