We tried to help her. We called the hospital when she would have break downs on the porch beside us. We refused to give her rides to booze or buy her booze. She had a sleeve put on her stomach to lose weight years ago. Side effects of those can be increased risk of alcoholism. She died from that.

This is my “I-am-about-to-have-bloodwork-done face. Not the most flattering or fashionable facial expression. I think my medicine pouch of crystals warded off the over worked nurses demon because she gave me lots of cool purple latex gloves because I said I love the colour. Mmmm purple latex.

So yesterday I was at Life Labs getting blood work done to see how I am responding to the metformin for my Type Two Diabetes. Some difficult things happened with my family yesterday as well. The same things that as a child created situations where I felt forced to run away. I am hoping to move now.
