Spent some time digging... And I guess my project this weekend is going to be creating some table of content listings for Monthly Asuka from 1986 & 1987. Certainly learned a bunch about the magazine today!

All of Beyblade X is now available in the Viz Manga app! The gap has been filled, so you can read right up to this month's simulpub releases in English. I've been waiting for this to happen. Time to start reading!

I'm not sure who would buy it... but there is an extremely obvious @omoi.com merch potential that could be made... 🪀 Maybe like a promotional booth/panel giveaways or something. The logo fits in there a bit too perfectly.

Mahjong Pros licensing "Bird: Mahjong's Deadliest vs The Master Illusionist" is really interesting because of the 2 names behind the series, Hiromi Aoyama (writer) and Kazutoshi Yamane (artist). Both have done non-Mahjong manga titles that might be worth picking up in English! 🧵

I do miss the live tweeting from manga industry panels at cons. I know the Kodansha panel is happening right now at SDCC and I want to know what's happening!

Shonen Racket on @omoi.com might be my favorite series they've published so far with only just 2 chapters out. What immediately stands out is how grounded both Ichiro and Jorgen are. When the 2nd half of the first chapter flips to Jorgen, he immediately becomes a likeable rival.

Wow, I think Kodama Tales is doing pretty well! With 106,000 copies of manga printed, as of March 2026, across all of their titles in just over a year-and-half seems like are on a great path as a company. (Print number from Digital Catapult Company Profile)

Is the July 31st a placeholder? Or could the series be moving to bi-weekly releases? Could that mean they would move up the physical print release to get that on store shelves before some other Takei-related work in the Fall? We shall see!

I miss RightStuf. I never really bought anything from the Crunchyroll store since it kept degrading rather than improving. I guess the benefit is that I did shift to buying more locally and direct from publishers. So I guess that's a positive.
