Oh yeah, we definitely someone in to at least push DCL. I'd be surprised if he stays as healthy this whole season again, so getting in someone to challenge him or at least offer a different option than him is vital

Exactly. You'd expect only 2 of our starting 11 last night to start the season, & only 3 of the 8 subs too (Bogle, Stach & Wilson) too, so anyone reading anything into last night's performance or result is a reactionary idiot! 🤷‍♂️

Exactly, plus Bijol only started shining in a 5 last season, & from what I've heard about Tarik, a back 5 will suit his skill-set, at least initially anyway. The only reason for pushing a 4 currently is to try & squeeze in Wilson & Brandt (if we sign him) alongside Okafor & DCL.

That's fair, and to be honest, i don't blame him. Let's be real, given our recent history, a player of his quality is taking a step down joining Leeds currently, but it would be a genuine statement type signing across Europe if he was to join. I'm still sceptical but hopeful too though.

I'm not saying that's the window closed after those 4. I still want a 9 to at least challenge DCL, another GK cos Cairns isn't a 2, plus a LWB/LB backup too. Just saying that the 4 i mentioned are potentially the quality to lift us to challenging for Europe, on top of the quality we've already got.

I rate both Gabby & Bogle highly as WB's in a 5, but in a 4 neither are defensively sound enough to rely on, in my opinion. Plus given how perfectly a back 5 suits our whole squad set up says that a 5 should be our primary system but we also should use warm up games to experiment with a 4 too.

From what I've read it's between us & Ajax, unless you've heard different? It wouldn't surprise me if that was the case, given how often that's happened with us recently, but this one feels a bit more genuine to me though for some reason.

Last night's result is completely irrelevant. I was just happy to see Wilson already showing the reason why we wanted him plus Longstaff again reminding us of his quality as he does get ignored compared to Amps & Stach too, plus some positive performances from some of the kids too.

Given the 2 major signings we've already made, if we get both Trafford & Brandt over the line then this could potentially be an historically good window for Leeds, & considering how good all the windows under the 49ers have been, that's really saying something. Thoughts?

Sorry but I disagree, Tony. Those looked like fine form to me for the last 2 or 3 reps of a set. Most importantly his back & core were stable & secure, & he was using decent form to raise & lower the weight, especially for as big a unit as he is. Just my opinion as a gym rat of near 40 years.

I think spurs could be good this season. They've made some good signings. Never mind just the millions they've spent, signing Robertson from Liverpool was a great signing for them, bringing quality & experience. I think they could actually push for CL this season but I'd LOVE IT if I was wrong! 🤞🏽😉

I agree with what you're saying but given him signing for us is probably us punching above our current weight, then we might have to accept a clause or 2 that, whilst not ideal for us, does mean we get him for a couple of seasons anyway. As long as they're not shitty relegation clauses again though!

Not necessarily saying I want DCL replaced but we do need someone in to either upgrade (which would cost serious money) or to challenge him, as I'd be surprised if he remains so healthy again this season. Next would be Bogle, who was excellent in a back 5 but might struggle defensively in a 4 though

I'll be honest, I was happy going into this season with Darlow & Perri as I preferred our money was spent elsewhere but then, after getting the 2 in that we've got plus losing Darlow, I am very keen to get this done. If we get him + Brandt then this will have been a GREAT window for us! 🙏🏽🤞🏽
