day 2 of disability body dysmorphia and me still not loving how i look, but I liked this pic with this devil cow (goat?) that my friend made just for me.

Day 1 I am having trouble liking how I look lately. I have a lot of internalized ableism swirling around in my head about my body. So, I am going to be taking one picture a day so that I can remind myself that I look good in my disabled body.

I just read that the average Canadian needs to make 155K to live happy in Canada. Great that my disability support is going up by 26.00 this month. Legislated poverty is very, very real.

Last month, I was in an airport having a quick lunch before a flight. My caregiver was feeding me and we were having a great time; laughing, eating, etc. Our other friend with us, let me know that there was a woman glaring at us the whole time. Some people need help to eat. Don't be weird, please.

We all like to think that institutionalization of disabled people is a thing of the past. But when I look at how many systemic failures there are for disabled people (especially those who rely on other people), I think that the core concept of institutionalization is alive and all too well.

Disabled queer rage today for me is a guy telling you that he's not interested cuz you're disability makes you look 'not active enough'. A lot of you gays are living through your ablest era, and it shows.

We do more for disabled animals than we do for disabled people. Jimothy is a painful reminder of that.
