You were probably using a pirated cambridgesoft version that a lab "found" online and used for years (because it didn't need an online license) until it wasn't functional. Not that I would know anything about that kind of thing nosiree

In my mind, uncertainty is better addressed where measurements are being taken (the lab) and/or in a dedicated analytical course where the theory can be expounded on

I go a little further and I just say "give the answer to X number of significant figures". I find in the introductory classroom (labs are different), the focus on sig figs can actual get in the way of the conceptual, reasoning, and problem solving skills the students are developing.

My kids' teachers all eventually end up using email and notes home in backpacks to communicate because that is what seems to work anyway. I wonder how much these apps cost the school systems?

The turnover in the apps for kid-stuff ecosystem is ridiculous. I don't think we've used a single app for more than two years in a row. Every time we are given a new app, it gets over-used in the first month and half, then almost not used at all

News today that this year we will have to use a different phone app for the public school system. Add that to the news from last week about the new apps that we are supposed to use this year for our kids' youth soccer program. Also, I HATE APPS
