Every local NYC press story today is “E-bikes under scrutiny after teen dies in fatal collision with SUV” E-bikes under scrutiny. Not the 2 ton metal death machine that takes up 40% of the roadway in lower Manhattan.

The anti e-bike crackdown is thinly veiled racism. It’s clearly a mode of transport disproportionately used by couriers running food around cities. New Jersey’s new laws are batshit and overly broad. Another example in a long line of de jure racism.

A teenager was struck and killed by an SUV while riding his bike in Lower Manhattan today and the comments in the local press stories are unhinged. People rushing to blame the CHILD for riding a bike, not the person driving an SUV on inner city streets. People have lost their damn minds.

Sometimes I think about how wildlife have more freedom of movement than humans. Like we like to think of ourselves as the top of the animal kingdom and yet we’ve created things like “visas” and “borders” that inhibit our own freedoms. A pigeon has more rights than me in this respect. Bonkers.

The speed at which the Covid 19 vaccine was developed was on par with the space race/lunar landing, a monumental achievement that saved countless lives but the death cult that is the GOP couldn’t take the win because their constituency is comprised of people waiting breathlessly for the End of Days.
