Based on the past few days, I’m planning for the Amtrak trip to have a delay between two hours and five hours.

Travel tip: the "Bring This Basket" 🧺 A few weeks before a trip, I set a laundry basket out. Any flash of "I need to remember to bring this!" or "Oooh this would be fun/nice to bring" - it goes in the basket. When I pack, the necessities are right there, and I can decide on any "nice to have"s.

Long-haul @amtrak.com trip coming up so I've of course started doing the very normal thing of looking at causes of delays along the route and tracking current trains. AND BECAUSE I KNOW YOU'RE CURIOUS: most delays due to reduced speed (wind/fire risk) & freight priority (which causes MORE delays)
