at my school we could get extra credit for buying extra reams of paper for some teachers. then a teacher started giving students extra credit for straight up cash. he got fired, as he should, but it puts into perspective how “extra credit for buying paper” is not that far from “extra credit for $$”

Sara Cress

School supplies should be free. They should come with the school. They should be purchased by the state.

it’s crazy to remember that my migraine today actually started BEFORE the phillies traded for luis arraez

Matt Gelb

Don Mattingly said the plan is for Bryce Harper to play RF, Alec Bohm to play 1B and Bryson Stott to be at 3B. Luis Arraez will be here Tuesday. Mattingly said the Phillies will have to “ease” Harper into right field, and it’s unclear how they will do that.

the phillies should approach tonight like they are playing the first game on a new adult recreational softball team where no one knows each other and one guy is just like uhhhh so where do you all like to play?

there were also eagles chants at camden yards yesterday, probably bc baltimore fans went home after the rain delay (presumably bc their home was like 30 mins away and not two hours away) so there were tons of phillies fans

Amanda Silberling

there are so many phillies fans here that pete alonso got booed in his home stadium lol lmao even

i think the answer is stott at short stop (short stott), trea learns the outfield bc why not, anyway here’s wonderwall

can i clarify that i am asking about this for WRITING AN ARTICLE about where people’s heads are at and not because i am asking for myself

i guess i’ll post this now and hope i have something to go off in the morning, but — i would like to talk to writers/creatives about where they draw the line when it comes to using AI. is using AI for things like research/fact-checking ok, and if so, what is the point where it goes too far?

everyone say “you’re a good friend @oaksy.bsky.social” for driving us four hours round trip to see approximately five mins of baseball

Matt Gelb

They have covered the field again with the tarp. The fans are booing. It's going to be a while.

sort of a half baked thought, but i've been writing a lot of stories lately about people trying out "dumb phones," wanting to use their phones less, changing their relationship to tech, etc., and i think we can approach this issue as different from the culture war around "social media addiction"

this is so dumb and specific but i am thinking about how when i was in high school i wrote an article for my local paper’s teen section that got syndicated to the LA times online which was huge for me & i would submit shit to writing contests that asked for bios like “hi i have been in the LA times”

in a really particular spot as someone who is a converted philadelphia sports fan but grew up in florida and experienced the hooplah around "imma take my talents to south beach"

one of the things i love and admire most about my bf is that he is so pure of heart and really cares about supporting his community and putting others first and taking care of people AND ALSO this means he convinced me that helping our friends move is the right thing to do and i don’t wannaaaaa :/
