I miss a Sunday afternoon my wife and I had once after an especiallt exhausting church service where we ordered Dominos, sat on the couch and watched a Workaholics marathon on Comedy Central for like three hours straight.

All of this was predictable. The moment I saw that paragraph in her ESPN profile where she did the “I love everyone but…” routine that inspires institutions and legacy media outlets to give a moral “Get out of bigotry Free” card, I knew where this was heading. Sh*t is so old and so tired.

Not many artists owned an entire season. In a post-monoculture world, the way she cracked the bubble is more than one can say for Becky G or Addison Rae or their ilk. The only thing left is to win another ring or figure out what to do next. That she did the latter through music is fine.

I don’t do parasocial sh-t so I dunno what she’ll do in the future, nor will I guess but I imagine her next thing will probably have more energy and verve.
