I can’t find similar news about the Sea Tractors. But they are a different beast anyway as they have to land to take on more retardant, so they’re better for creating fire breaks in controlled conditions. The Canadairs can head back to water and collect another scoop - they are active firefighters.

You can't fix labour markets by ony looking at young peoples skills needs. At any one time 70-80% of the workforce in 10 years time *is already in the workforce*. Without proper lifelong learning we just front load a continuing problem.

Apparently this consists of Canadairs which has the scooper undercarriage for sea water, and the Sea Tractors which can also carry retardant. There are fires in the forests along the coast all the time and they don’t get out of hand. Wikipedia won’t tell me how many but it can’t be more than 6/7.

I would like the medium read on fire fighting planes please! At Zadar airport there are always half a dozen yellow planes. They are part of 855th squadron, the only fire fighting squadron in the Croatian Air Force. They are awesome, and a common sight buzzing round the coast in the summer.
