#rva has increased taxes for schools in the past (meals tax) and we built many new schools: river city middle, Henry marsh es, Richmond high school for the arts etc. This new proposal builds upon that work. The meals tax will be reduced to make up for the sales tax increase.

A dedicated revenue source would help us break the cycle of disinvestment we’ve been trapped in. A great learning environment is key for student and staff morale and safety.
