I've had about 5 hours sleep. I'm tired and grumpy, and my to-do list is a mile long. <collapses into armchair and opens Slay the Spire>

Immigrant PunkEnough of the horrors and doom scrolling. Let's talk about something fun. How do you arrange your books?
Terrific thread for book nerds or just people interested in how an industry like publishing evolves over time 👇
Olivia WaiteA thread on special editions, luxury books, and publishing history: In 1903, J. M. Dent created Everyman’s Library, intended as a cheap line of hardbacks to make a classical education accessible as mass literacy rates were on the rise.

I strongly recommend these powerful, dark and moody romantic fantasy novels. Terrific world building, gorgeous romances. Buy them, read them, write a review.
May “Bunny” Peterson 🦄My entire Sacred Dark trilogy is on sale right now, with Lord of the Last Heartbeat and The Immoral City only $1.99 each! Pick them up if you like gothic queer romance with fantasy and hot sex. I'd love more reviews! Amz: tinyurl.com/5n8u3ywf Book pages: maypetersonbooks.com/books

Fellow authors: without any context, what's the first line of your current WIP? "It all started when my best friend Linh cast two of my ex-lovers in a play where I was the fight choreographer, and had to teach them to slash at each other with swords."
'Nathan Burgoine (he/him)Fellow authors: without any context, what’s the first line of your current WIP? "As far as Treat was concerned, there were only two ways to handle being born on Hallowe’en." (I’m not sure I can call this a WIP so much as a W-stalled-no-P but.)
An antidote to the "tough on crime" talk. Treating violence as a disease immediately focuses you on preventative measures, and they work. I'd never even heard of the VRU (violence reduction unit) and it's in my home state. Could we please talk more about this kind of brilliant, inspiring work?
Guardian AustraliaEurope’s ‘murder capital’ slashed violent crime with a radical program. Will it work in Victoria?

This is gorgeous artwork for one of my favourite books.
Sarah Rees BrennanIt’s not Friday but it’s the last day of Pride month, so I wanted to share this art of the weirdo table in my IN OTHER LANDS, Elliot (grumpiest bisexual who ever portaled to fantasyland), elf maid Serene-Heart-in-the-Chaos-of-Battle & golden warrior half-harpy Luke. It’s gorgeous & joyful. #booksky
What he said 👇
John Scalzi"But they'll just use 'AI'" - Then let them use "AI," and fucking boo them loudly and in public for doing so, anyone using "AI" should be fucking ashamed for paying a billionaire for words instead of an actual writer, plus the writing they get will be bland and boring. Pay a real fucking writer!
Icecream. I mean, if it was a superfood I could force myself to eat it for the health value. But I really don't get the fuss.
BrendelWhat’s the most widely enjoyed food that you can’t stand, not because of allergies or anything but just because you hate it?
I love this to pieces (I don't really follow soccer, I don't know any of these people, but I think that might change now)
