Big arrival of LW in last couple of days, two of us had seven on surveys around Cresswell/Ellington this AM; also 10+ Sedge Warblers..

Thing is Steph, this kind of assumes everyone can learn same way/has the desire to learn it all. People learn many different ways and most have a passing interest/curiosity that doesn’t extend beyond the one bird they want ID for. Many birders wouldn’t pick up NvD Advanced Guide because no images.

Sometimes as a birder I wish I didn’t have a sense of smell though, evocative chum buckets and Storm Petrels came to mind immediately 😉

He is I assume still the cockwomble he was a decade ago.
