I honestly thought they held back a couple of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY post-credit scenes from press (the credits even seemed to have pauses n them) but it’s looking like they didn’t. Surprised.

I love LADY IN WHITE. It’s got some extraneous stuff and it’s very much of its time, but when it works, it’s weird, and emotional, and gets almost Lynchian in places. Lukas Haas is pretty fantastic even though he’s only 8. He carries the movie in ways more experienced actors might not have.

The final shot of ONCE is a dolly shot, and you know it broke the bank for that particular low-budget movie, but it's one of the most beautiful closing shots in cinema.

ONCE is an essential Aughts movie, not just because it’s a Glen Hansard/Marketa Irglová movie but it’s John Carney’s first film. Made for barely $200,000, it’s a rich diegetic musical and one of the most beautiful love-friendship stories, bonded in art and music. If you haven’t seen it, do so now.
