How much are animals able to regulate their behaviour when it's hot? People talk about not letting their cats in the hot conservatory or not letting the dogs out in the yard when it's hot and I wonder how good these creatures are at realising they're too hot and seeking shade or cool.

Electrician came this morning to service batteries. Took out all power in the middle of my therapy call. Hadn’t been told about my failed solar panels or that I had a battery backup system. Deadnamed me throughout then failed to restore most power to the house. Fixed things eventually but argh.

For the purposes of a hosepipe ban, what constitutes a hose? How is a hose distinguished from a pipe? I assume I am not permitted to water my garden by attaching a rigid pipe to my outside tap.
