Wouldn't it be wonderful if one single mainstream UK journalist started to hold Rowling's feet to the fire over her associations?

Here's a tweet by JK Rowling from 2023 referring to her staunch ally Kellie Jay Keen as a "genius," (in a piece by Helen Joyce), and the below recent video showing Keen disrupting Muslim men praying, and proudly identifying herself as an Islamophobe while she does it.

I saw that, and maybe you're right. Maybe my optimism might be misplaced.

What free speech warriors are often seeking is not the right to a "contrary view" it is the right to endanger, and one of the roles of the State should be to protect minorities from the tyranny of the majority.

Free speech warriors always hide behind weasel phrases like "different opinion" and "contrary views," like it doesn't VERY MUCH MATTER what the actual opinion and view is. That's why Rowling cannot speak plainly, because the tweet reads very differently when you actually spell out the views.

By the way, if your "contrary view" is, for example, that trans women are mostly a bunch of perverts who should be photographed in public, ridiculed online, and who should be assaulted if they use women's bathrooms, it's not "totalitarian" to say the State should intervene to protect trans women.

She and her allies with bang on all day long about "compelled speech" (which actually translates to "not being a dick to trans people") but they have absolutely no problem in compelling the speech of others.

This is Rowling's pinned tweet, and yet, just this week, she is funding legal cases against Féile Belfast and Amnesty International for exercising their free speech and fair opinion. She is using her massive wealth to terrorise these orgs into compilance, because she doesn't believe in free speech.

It's a moot point, because I doubt any solicitor would advise Rowling to present herself for questioning.

Indeed, but even they couldn't ignore it when Sandie Peggie, their "victim" in a JK Rowling funded lawfare case, turned out to also be an horrendous racist. I don't think Rowling's solicitors would ever let her on a stand under oath. It would be a PR disaster for her.

Winning in court would be good, but it's firstly about winning with the public. The UK press simply doesn't report her extremism. They cannot ignore it if she is properly questioned about it under oath.

I would love to see JK Rowling take to a stand, under oath, to defend herself and her org as not anti-trans. All those tweets, from her and all the people she has endorsed over the years, just lying out there ready to go. I would pay into any crowdfunder that would guarantee that would happen.

But that will not always be the case, and the stories and documentaries on the "gender critical" movement will come, eventually, and history will judge her very harshly. 150K is a number the GC movement could only dream of. Trans people aren't going anywhere. 9/9

150K people gathered for UK Trans Pride on the weekend, and the most major UK outlets failed to even note it. You think that same Press is even moderately interested in holding her feet to the flames, speaking truth to her enormous power? 8/

She talks about history judging those who are unkind to her, but the only thing that insulates her from being publicly revealed as an out and out hypocrite and hatemonger is a transphobic UK media landscape (think of how homophobic they were in the 1980s, and it's mucn like that.) 7/

She did not say a word about Graham, of course, when he did a podcast with Joey Barton, a misogynist who was convicted of kicking his wife in the head. So her claim that her cause is one of women's safety and a clash of rights is horseshit. 5/

She also says she doesn't wish harm on trans people, but the only time she has mentioned Graham Linehan in the last 6 years is to defend his call for trans women to be punched in the genitals ("if all else fails") in women's toilets. 4/

She does talk about people being "unkind" to her in that rant, but in the same essay she cited Magdalen Berns, an horrific deceased transphobe who referred to trans people in disgusting terms ("pathetic, sick fuck" etc.) as a massive influence on her thinking. 3/

And, I'll save you the suspense, if you go to Twitter and read her rant, she doesn't mention the domestic abuse portion of her essay, because she knows that she cannot stand by that principle anymore. She shamelessly used her experience of domestic abuse to garner sympathy for her hate. 2/
