It's odd how little scrutiny and debate there has been over the definition of terrorism in law, given the controversy over the proscription of Palestine Action and the sentencing with a "terrorist connection" aggravation of some PA activists. Are the criteria too broad, or just being misapplied?

Whether we're talking about the proscription of Palestine Action, or the finding of a "terrorist connection" in sentencing, both depend on the definition of terrorism in s1 Terrorism Act 2000. You have argued previously that the definition is too broad. Maybe revisit that argument.

Many people say that the mass arrests of people showing support for Palestine Action has totally discredited the proscription of the group. But it's possible that proscription was just a 5D chess move by the government to turn a radical direct action group into a twee middle-class protest group.
