Finally! Just a lil visit to the Imperial Palace to learn about their parents. 👀 (Still side-eying all the characters the twins know who knew their parents and don’t tell them a thing)

Now this part I’m excited about. I continue to be in favor of SW publishing trying different genres.

And regardless how I, cranky and hard to please, feel about Nolan’s Odyssey I’m thrilled to see audiences embracing it because that can only be a good thing. If it gets more people to read and engage with a good translation of the Odyssey and the other myths, I’ll be very happy.

Also when I say Nolan’s Odyssey is “fine,” I don’t mean to be stinting. There were things I really liked: — the use of storytelling within the story, just like the original — engagement with the broader Trojan war myths, esp. tragedy (Oresteia and Iphigeneia) — loved how Zendaya/Athena was used

Odyssey thoughts: — it was fine, not as bad as I feared — ppl mad about “woke” casting and modern values are ridiculous and don’t get art — I wanted more authentic costuming not bc it’s bad w/o it but they have $$ to do it right — I’m glad it had a thesis not just spectacle. — kinda ponderous tho
