I too am an independently thinker.

It had a layer of raspberry curd, some raspberry puree added to the mascarpone cream, and freeze dried raspberries sifted onto the top under the cocoa powder. The flavour of the coffee/chocolate worked really well with the fruit.

I love raspberries. I have recently made a raspberry tiramisu which was amazing.

I find that with certain novels. You read them and you know there's absolutely no point reading anything else by the same author because they're just not going to be remotely comparable. Riddley Walker would be a case in point.

This reminds me of the word origins for animals and meats in English. Animals have Anglo-Saxon names because the peasants were raising them, meats have French names because the French-speaking aristocracy were eating them. Pig>Pork, Cow>Beef, Deer>Venison, Sheep>Mutton, Duck>Poultry.

Would be interesting to get together a list of loosely adjacent cuisines for that kind of occasion. So something a bit exotic but familiar enough not to be too challenging.
