i also didn't but i think that's because i played so much WoW and their community is so anti making your oc important??? maybe??? idk! but i always thought about making ocs to flesh out the world and make the world more interesting not be the goku of this universe
It's both the nature of this being an MMO and the nature of roleplaying original characters themselves. The Dragon Age community on tumblr was the same where their rook/inquisitor/grey warden was the main focus at all times, and being an oc npc was a nightmare.
"You sense my loneliness, my bitterness at being shut out of life. My bitterness that I'm evil, that I don't deserve to be loved and yet I need love hungrily. My horror that I can never reveal myself to mortals."
WHEN! LESTAT! SAID!
"You can't escape this loneliness
It'll say, "What a mess"
How could anybody ever love you?
Don't hide it away
Don't bury those feelings
Don't worship that grave
Dug on your own
Don't burn alone"
WHEN LESTAT SAID "I have waited in vane for you to tell me you love me. Just say it, Louis. Say 'Lestat I will never love you'. It would help me a great deal to hear it from your lips. Your quivering, hateful, lips."
when lestat said "This primitive country has picked you clean. It has shackled you in permanent exile. Every room you enter, every hat you are forced to wear... the stern landlord, the deferential businessman, the loyal son... all these roles you conform to and none of them your true nature."
It's either we get people who are so puritanical in their beliefs that anything that approaches dark, gritty, topics is a call sign to your belief system and you are therefore an abuser or you get people who are so wrapped up in the grimdark fantasy that they forget roleplay affects real humans.
i loved you sincerely, i loved you dearly. i spent paragraph after paragraph explaining to you how i wanted to go about this to keep us healthy and stable and you agreed and never followed through.
literally the first vague i've made about this shit and it's only because what you're implying is pretty fucking egregious. haven't you hurt me enough.
