A civil courts reporter at The Philadelphia Inquirer. PACER obsessed docket sleuth. Send me gossip to agutman(at)inquirer.com and Agutman.96 on Signal.

Every time I am in New York City I think about how much I like it, and then I return to Philly and remember what love feels like.

Had a drink so I’m going to fall asleep like a baby and wake up at 3am wide awake and self loathing. Mid-30s are a transition.

When you get to heaven you just hear Tom McCarthy saying “it’s gone” on repeat

A reminder of the news that came out of Philadelphia hospitals in 2020:

Aaron Rupar

RFK Jr: Trump wanted to end lockdowns. In Fauci's diary, he talks about how the president was calling him trying to get him to reopen the country BASH: The lockdowns were down by governors K: They cited Fauci B: Govs were hearing from hospitals that their ICUs were overrun K: That's not true

And if you already signed and share, thank you. Now share it again so others can support us also! This is what we are fighting for. We don’t expect to get filthy rich doing local news. But we deserve financial security. We also pay for gas and groceries, not just report on increasing prices.

Philly’s suburban commuters, rejoice. Next time you look at the withholdings on your pay stub, you are allowed to proclaim: LeBron, he’s just like us, amirite? 🎁 🔗: share.inquirer.com/c190up

LeBron James could live in NYC as a Sixer. Philly’s wage tax has no exemption for a King.Suburban commuters, rejoice. Next time you look at the withholdings on your pay stub, you may be allowed to proclaim: LeBron, he’s just like us, amirite?share.inquirer.com

My four year old loves the Museum of the American Revolution but calls it the Imaginary Revolution Museum, and there is a metaphor in there somewhere.

I will always be baffled when I offer to talk to sources, communications folks *off the record* to make sure I don’t insert mistakes to a story, and they don’t take me up on it. Happens all the time.

I am not a U.S. citizen. I got jury duty notice from Philly a couple times. The postcard instructs you to take an online questionnaire, which asks if you are a U.S. citizen. After you say “no” you are told you are ineligible for jury duty. That’s why it’s in the “non-juror” records.

Jim Saksa

Lots of non-citizens are on the jury pool in Philly because they use DMV records and local tax payments to build their master list. (They get out of jury duty by simply notifying the court they aren't citizens.) This man isn't dumb. He's a con artist.

U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi dismisses DOJ's lawsuit seeking New Jersey's full voter roll. The Trump administration is now 0-18 in district courts on this issue. Last week's disclosure that some noncitizens were registered to vote by a glitch didn't change Quraishi's analysis.

I know how to solve al the Phillies problems. Here me out. Until October, we add to the line up and/or bullpen... LEBRON JAMES

Nothing anyone says matters because they won’t play ball for months and in that time we [philly] get to live in a world of playoff wins, and rings and unicorns.

Eric Michael Garcia

I could see the Sixers going far in the playoffs only if Embiid is healthy. Yes, LeBron is LeBron, but he’s also getting old.

Philly nationals, what is the best LeBron merch you’ve seen so far? I’m the market for a hat or tee.

022

I’ve been basking in LeBron glow since yesterday until the Costco in Cherry Hill had *no* sample and I was reminded that we live in a cold cruel world.

Ordered the kids to put on their Sixers jerseys and now we are watching Space Jam: A New Legacy because education starts at home.

I moved to Philadelphia in 2016. Since: Eagles win Super Bowl, Phillies sign Bryce Harper, Sixers draft Maxey, Phillies win Pennant, Eagles go to Super Bowl, Eagles win another Super Bowl, Sixers draft VJ, Flyers draft Martone, Sixers get LeBron. Correlation does not equal causation, and yet.

I’m so scared from the past decade of the Sixers finding new and creative ways to stab me in the heart that I’m nervous that the team didn’t say anything about LeBron yet.
